Moderate solar activity is allowed to move the launch of cargo spacecraft "Progress M-09M" from 2010 to 2011. Told reporters at Baikonur head of manned programs Roscosmos Alexei Krasnov, RIA Novosti news agency.
Previously reported that the truck launches to the ISS on December 27. But then its launch was postponed to early 2011.
"The sun was quite calm and, consequently, fuel consumption for orbit correction station has been modest, and we together with our partners have decided to postpone the launch of" Progress "next year" - he said.
"We consider the flow of cargo to the ISS, based on the availability of certain things on board - fuel, water, oxygen, supplies, spare parts. However, the main factor - fuel supplies to the orbit correction," - said Red.
According to him, the need for the December launch of "Progress" has disappeared due to the fact that the station does not need such a quantity of goods.
"I do not need this redundancy. Parameters traffic is absolutely sufficient to maintain the health of the ISS," - he said.
