Ce moteur est le moteur qui pourrait équiper l'étage d'injection Dvina (KVTK) sur les versions lourdes de l'Angara (entre autres). Mais la caractéristique importante est l'utilisation d'un système d'allumage laser implanté au niveau de la chambre de combustion et développé par L'institut Keldish et le KBKhA de Voronetz, une filiale de Khrunichev. C'est la première fois qu'est utilisé ce type d'allumage en Russie.
