05.01.2012 / 16:35 Roskosmos announced a "road map" Mars exploration by mankind
International Working Group has developed a special space-faring "road map" of the world of manned space flight, said in Roskosmos. The project involved the partner countries of the project of building the International Space Station (Russia, USA, Canada, Japan and the European Space Agency), as well as China, India, Kazakhstan, Ukraine and others.
"This is not only MKSovsky Club, and much larger" - said the head of manned programs Roskosmos Alexei Krasnov.
According to him, "Interfax", co-ordination plan is difficult because of problems in the global economy. "These programs require government decisions to allocate the necessary financial resources, and this is the most difficult task in today for all of us. It is very difficult in the face of such economic uncertainty willing to provide many, many billions on it to fly beyond low orbit. While we were at the final decision did not come, "- he said.
Krasnov said that, according to the "road map", the development of manned space flight can go in three ways: the organization of a manned expedition to Mars, the Mars mission after mission to the moon, Mars mission after mission to asteroid . "This is - are three possible ways. But some of them go, the decision is not made yet," - said Krasnov.
Responding to a question, for which of these three areas of Russia opposes, he said that Roskosmos satisfied any of the ways. "We believe that this may be, and the moon as an intermediate point for testing new technologies, developing new approaches human space flight, and only then will be a step toward Mars. But our ultimate goal - Mars," - said the representative of the Russian Space Agency
